Government adopts UNCRPD recommendations
Today the Government has announced its decision to adopt a number of the recommendations made in the most recent concluding observations of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).
In total, 30 of the 63 recommendations were adopted with a further 17 to be considered by Whaikaha as part of our work this year on refreshing the New Zealand Disability Strategy.
The convention is an important guideline for disability work across the public sector.
