ICCPR Draft Report Consultation

The New Zealand Government will shortly submit its seventh report on the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (Covenant) to the United Nations Human Rights Committee, which monitors how signatories are implementing the Covenant. 

The Ministry of Justice invites feedback from organisations and the public on New Zealand’s draft Seventh Periodic Report to the Human Rights Committee on the Covenant.

Proposals to strengthen Total Mobility

The Total Mobility scheme helps people with long-term impairments travel when they cannot use public transport on their own. It pays part of the cost for taxis and sometimes other transport, making it easier for users to meet daily needs and take part in their community.

The Ministry of Transport wants to strengthen the Total Mobility scheme to make it better for the people who use it and those who fund it. They are seeking views on 6 proposals.
