Expanding membership of Transformation Management Board

Two additional seats for family and whānau will be added to the Transformation Management Board currently being established by Whaikaha.

The Transformation Management Board is one of many partnerships set up to transform the disability support system, so it improves the lives of disabled people and tāngata whaikaha Māori throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.

Members will primarily provide advice to support the implementation of transformation initiatives funded through the Budget 2022 contingency.

Whaikaha is currently inviting expressions of interest from whānau of tāngata whaikaha Māori and from family members of disabled people to join the Transformation Management Board. Applications close at 5pm on Wednesday 6 December 2023.

Applications for three disabled people and three tāngata whaikaha Māori Board members closed on 25 October 2023.

“Whaikaha is making a deliberate effort to ensure disabled people and their family and whānau have a key role shaping our work,” says Whaikaha Chief Executive Paula Tesoriero.

“We have listened to community feedback that having family and whānau at the Board table will help provide important perspectives and insights on the best ways lay the foundations for transformation."
