Pacific Community Talanoa Feedback report
The Ministry of Disabled People – Whaikaha has published a report that brings together the feedback it heard during a series of Pacific Community Talanoa it held from February to April 2024.
This series of 20 talanoa (conversations) were held around the country so Pacific disabled people and their aiga or whānau could share their experiences of the disability system with us. The talanoa were supported by the leadership of the Pacific community.
The talanoa series was attended by over 1000 Pacific disabled people with their Aiga, carers, community leaders, Pacific NGOs/providers, extended family members and others interested in conversations regarding disability.
The Ministry would like to thank all those who shared their experiences and insights with us.
The Pacific Community Talanoa Feedback report summarises our learnings from these talanoa. It is informing the development of the National Pacific Disability Action Plan.
