Accessible information training

We run free 2-hour workshops in collaboration with the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) and members of 3 Disabled People Organisations (DPOs).

The workshops are open to all staff from central government organisations and local government bodies, including:

  • public service and non-public service departments
  • Crown Agencies
  • Te Whatu Ora
  • local councils.

This training covers:

  1. what accessible information is
  2. why information needs to be accessible
  3. the drivers and standards for government information accessibility
  4. presentations from people with disabilities and why accessibility is important to them
  5. making online/digital information accessible
  6. providing documents in alternate formats
  7. practical accessibility tips.
